Frequently asked questions regarding work platform and lift truck rental

In order to simplify renting work platforms, lift trucks and mini-cranes, we’ll answer some frequently asked questions (FAQ) about the Felbermayr rental range, the rental request process, our rental branches and their on-site points of contact, our training programmes for using height access equipment safely and the digital returns process quickly and concisely.

Rental range

Detailed descriptions and technical data sheets are available for all work platform, lift truck and mini-crane categories. Informing us of your application, the maximum working height, the maximum load and the preferred drive type helps us to arrange the most suitable rental device for you and to provide you with a non-binding offer for it.

The price for the rental of work platforms, lift trucks and mini-cranes from Felbermayr comprises the following elements:

  • Required model (work height, type of drive, equipment, …)
  • Length of rental period – by the day or long-term rental
  • Delivery and removal from site

Optional

  • Operating personnel
  • Theft protection
  • Additional items of equipment for telescopic lift trucks (work basket, winch, load hook, fork extension, …)

The price includes:

  • Machinery breakage insurance
  • Proper on-site training by trained personnel
  • Leading-edge units

In response to your request, you will receive a tailor-made and detailed quotation from the relevant rental branch.

The work platforms are inspected according to legal requirements before and after each rental, and are checked for faults and damage. Defined maintenance intervals are complied with.

In addition to physical (over 18) and mental suitability, there are technical prerequisites (IPAF training, PAL card, etc.), as well as documents and sources of information that must be observed (operating manual, operating instructions, etc.). The personal protective equipment required for use and a visual inspection of the devices must be adhered to. A detailed list of the safety information is provided in the “Mobile lifting work platforms” leaflet from the Austrian Workers' Compensation Board, AUVA.

If you wish to transport a truck platform or a trailer platform yourself, the required driving licence class depends on the model. Our on-site experts can provide you with information on the relevant requirements.

We offer optional theft protection for platforms, lift trucks and mini crawler cranes as a special service. The machinery breakage insurance that is included in the rental price remains part of our quotations.

When using mobile booms (3b) work platforms such as telescopic work platforms and articulated telescopic work platforms as well as static booms (1b) such as truck platforms, trailer platforms and crawler platforms, the operator is required to wear PPE. PPE can save lives in the event of an accident. The personal protective device, which includes a safety harness, fall damper and industrial safety helmet, should be put on before you get into the work basket. PPE is either offered to you directly when you rent a work platform or you can order the protective equipment online with free shipping costs.
